Professor Ethan Katsh Head of the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution 

and Professor Emeritus of Legal Studies, University of Massachusetts Amherst
Co-author (with Orna Rabinovich-Einy) of Digital Justice: Technology and the Internet of Disputes (2017, Oxford University Press) Winner of  2017 D’Alemberte-Raven Award  from the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution.

Professor Katsh is widely recognized as one of the founders of the field of online dispute resolution (ODR). Along with Janet Rifkin, he conducted the eBay Pilot Project in 1999 that led to eBay’s current system that handles over sixty million disputes each year. With Professor Rifkin, he wrote Online Dispute Resolution: Resolving Conflicts in Cyberspace (2001), the first book about ODR. Since then, he has published numerous articles about ODR and co-edited Online Dispute Resolution: Theory and Practice, which received the International Institute for Conflict Resolution book award for 2012.

Daniel Rainey Former Chief of Staff at the National Mediation Board, Washington, DC and member of the Board of Directors of the Internet Bar, Daniel is an adjunct faculty member in the graduate dispute resolution programs at Dominican University, The McGeorge Law School of the University of the Pacific, and Southern Methodist University.

 

Daniel  is a member of the editorial board for Conflict Resolution Quarterly, and he is one of the Editors-in-Chief of the International Journal of Online Dispute Resolution.  He is an author/editor of the award-winning book, Online Dispute Resolution Theory and Practice, and numerous other book chapters and articles about ODR and ADR.

He is a member of the Supreme Court of Virginia’s Access to Justice Commission, Self-Represented Litigants Committee, and he has recently been named as the co-chair of the International Mediation Institute Task Force on E-Mediator Competencies.

Mohamed S Abdel Wahab Professor Wahab is the Chair of Private International law and Professor of International Arbitration at Cairo University; Vice President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration; Court Member of the LCIA; President of LCIA’s Arab Users’ Council; Court member of the CIMAC, Vice President of the IBA Arbitration Committee; Member of the CIArb’s Practice and Standards Committee; Member of the CRCICA Advisory Committee; Member of AAA-ICDR International Advisory Committee; and Member of the SIAC African Users’ Council’s Committee.  Professor Wahab is recognised for his expertise in, and knowledge of,  ODR, being also a co-editor of the award winning text, Online Dispute Resolution: Theory and Practice.

Professor Pablo Cortes Professor of Civil Justice at the University of Leicester Law School, where he teaches and conducts research in the field of dispute resolution, civil procedure and consumer law. Professor  Cortés is a qualified attorney in Spain . His research interests lie in the intersection of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), online dispute resolution (ODR), consumer protection, and civil procedure. He has recently published a monograph entitled Online Dispute Resolution for Consumers in the EU (Routledge, 2010). Pablo has carried out expert appointments by UNCITRAL and the European Commission.

Aura Esther Vilalta Senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Open University of Catalonia (UOC), Barcelona, Spain. Esther was the Spanish national representative at the United Nations Commission for International Trade Law's (UNCITRAL)  Working Group III on Online Dispute Resolution). Her research is focused currently on information and communication technology and the law, consumer protection and ODR, and relational justice.

Dr Alberto Elisavetsky The Founder and Director of Social Network Online Dispute Resolution Latin-America, the Director of Social Conflict Observatory & Postgraduate Online Dispute Resolution Program in Spanish, the National University of Tres de Febrero Buenos Aires Argentina, the Chairman of e-MARC Alternative Dispute Resolution Worldwide Online Spanish Congress, and the scientific committee member of the Master in Conflict Resolution University Degli StudiDi Padova Italy.

Orna Rabinovich-Einy Associate professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Haifa, Israel, and Fellow of the Haifa Center for Law and Technology. Orna is an associate professor (senior lecturer) at the Faculty of Law at the University of Haifa. Her areas of expertise are alternative dispute resolution, online dispute resolution, and civil procedure, with research focusing on the relationship between formal and informal justice systems, dispute resolution system design and the impact of technology on dispute resolution.
